The goal of your speech is going to be to change the thought or action of your audience in relation to your chosen subject. However, this is not a value speech. Your presentation must be focused on policy and what we need to do to change it. However, despite the fact that you may have some good ideas, you must be sure that you have a frame, or outline, for your speech. Developing the frame starts with a good thesis statement.

For your post you need to do two things:
1. Post a well thought out thesis that will not merely give me regurgitated facts, but rather attacks a policy and gives a reason behind it.
2. Post a short explanation of your argument. Where are you going to go with your argument? How are you going to explain your point?
This portion should be done in a MEL-Con paragraph.

In order to prevent redundancy within the speeches, you will not be able to pick the same topic as someone else in the class. If someone posts an idea before you, then it becomes their idea and you will need to pick a new one. You must have your post up by Friday.

YOU CANNOT ARGUE ANY POLICIES ABOUT ABORTION, THE DRINKING AGE OR LEGALIZING MARIJUANA. I HAVE HEARD ENOUGH ABOUT THOSE AND THEY DRIVE ME NUTS!!!!!

Remember, the speech will have to be 5-7 minutes, so ensure it is a topic that you would be able to get a multitude of information about.

Go Bison!!!
